Nadine happy, fulfilled with non-showbiz boyfriend

Nadine Samonte confirmed that she and non-showbiz boyfriend Emerson Chua are back in each other’s arms.

According to the 23-year-old actress, she broke up with Emerson last August and reconciled with him last November. Barring the gap in their relationship, the couple has been together for over six years.

The Kapatid actress said it was there need for space and time apart that caused the break-up.

“Parang, ano lang, difficulty ng relationship namin. Kasi we’ve been together for almost six years. No break-ups, no cool offs. Kahit ano, wala. Siguro, nagkaroon lang ng time na parang i-set aside na muna, pahinga na muna,” Nadine said during the recent pocket presscon for “Valiente.”

She added, “Kasi, parang yun at yun lang din. Parang nagiging used to it na kayo na everyday, yun na lang din. Parang, wala ng iba? So nag-set aside kami for ilang months.”

There were no major conflicts and no third party involved in the separation, she said.

During those three months, Nadine admitted dating former Kapatid co-star Leandro Munoz. However, she clarified that it was not serious.

“Mararamdaman mo na yun sa isang tao kung gusto mo siya or fulfilled ka sa kanya or happy ka na sa kanya,” she said of her brief relationship with Leandro. “Naramdaman ko na lang. Hindi mo ma-explain e. Unexplainable yung ganun feelings. Different pa rin pala yung isa (Emerson).

As for what triggered Nadine and Emerson’s reconciliation, she shared: “Kasi, ano, parang sobrang… yung hinanap ko siya at hinanap niya ako.”

“In a way na parang, ang hirap pala na gumawa ng mga bagay na andiyan lang sya lagi sa tabi mo. Nakakamiss din. Namiss namin ang isa’t isa. So parang binigyan ko ng chance na ibahin natin ang routine natin,” she explained.

Right now, Nadine said she’s happy with her long-time boyfriend.

“I’m happy naman and I can say that I’m fulfilled naman (with Emerson).”

Wedding plans?

Before they broke up Nadine and Emerson were already reportedly planning to tie the knot. Will they take the plunge this year?

“We want to (get married) pero sabi ko wag na muna. Sayang yung opportunity binigay sa akin ng TV5. Kakalipat ko lang last June,” Nadine said. “Actually, gusto ko. Ang problema nga, (iniisip) ko work ko. Kasi sayang. Sobrang sayang.

The “Valiente” star added she actually wants to have a child early in life.

“Gusto ko bata pa lang ako, magkaka-anak na ako, e. Gusto ko magiging kabarkada ko anak ko,” Nadine said.

Challenge

Less than a year in the network, Nadine will star in her third soap opera in the Kapatid network.

“Syempre thankful ako sa TV5 na kahit papaano, kahit saang role nila ako ipasok, kahit sa mabibigat na role, pinagkakatiwalaan nila ako,” she said. “Di yung feeling na parang, ‘Oops, kaya ko pala.’ Nagkakaroon ako ng more confidence sa sarili ko.”

Nadine added, “The more na binibigyan ka ng better roles, lalo kang nacha-challenge. And yun ang gusto ko, yung nacha-challenge talaga ko.”

“Valiente” also stars JC De Vera, Oyo Sotto, and Nina Jose and will premiere this February on TV5.
